Overview
The Dispatch Manager is responsible for managing, monitoring recorded communications and controlling all radio dispatch functions, establishing proper radio control procedures and terminology for dispatchers and drivers and must be capable of properly assigning work shifts to ensure adequate coverage during all revenue service hours to ensure proper operations and safe movement of vehicles. The Dispatch Manager reports to the Assistant General Manager
Responsibilities
Responsible for coordinating management of on-street operations with all key personnel
Establishes professional and respectful communications protocols between dispatchers and drivers
Promoting professionalism and cooperative working relationships between drivers, dispatchers and all control center personnel and other operations personnel
Establishes industry accepted emergency radio call handling procedures
Monitors all radio traffic and MDC communications and messages for adherence to proper operating guideline and policies
Must be capable of generating meaningful dispatch reports based on tracking logs, recorded communications and ensures that all dispatchers record via Ecolane.
Works with administrative personnel on resolution of rider complaints and coordinates activities with the client.
Qualifications
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Two-way radio operations experience
Knowledge of 10-codes and professional radio communications techniques
Ability and experience managing and supervising a radio dispatch operation
Experience developing radio control training modules
Experience with monitoring radio communications, live or recorded, and noting areas of needed improvement and coaching staff on techniques
Education Required:
Experience Required:
Experience developing and writing radio dispatching and/or call handling procedures required.
Experience in any kind of radio dispatching supervisory capacity also required.
Experience in lead, supervisory or coaching position in a transportation environment also preferred.
