Job Information

Transdev Service Writer in Capital Heights, Maryland

Job Purpose: Ensures the efficient operation of and control of work request. Directly interacts with all departments and individual operators. Provides customer satisfaction through clerical shop and telephone support.

  1. Opens work request immediately upon receipt.

2) Closes work request immediately upon completion of quality inspection.

3)Runs and reviews AQR reports as needed.

4)Answers telephone for shop lines and schedules repair appointments.

5)Maintains vehicle information files.

6)Takes road call information, communicates with Lead Technician, Shop Supervisor, or General Manager to dispatch mechanic or outside service.

7)Contacts outside vendors to arrange mechanical repairs, using information given.

8)Arranges pick-up of outside repairs.

9)Files work orders with PM sheets, DVCR (operator write up), and maintains unit file related information.

10)Runs review reports as needed.

11)The above duties are not meant to restrict initiative, but rather to define minimum activities. These duties may be altered to suit the needs of the company as needed.

Minimum Education & Certifications Required: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience & Skills Required: •Previous administrative experience.

•Strong typing and data entry skills required

•Computer literate with an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Word, email (Lotus Notes), and database applications

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions (include amount of travel): Incumbent must be able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment; access filing system/cabinets; and communicate effectively and efficiently in person or by telephone.
